Boston Bruins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction: Can Nikita Kucherov, Lightning Get Pucks Past Bruins?

Small slate on the ice here today but at least the NHL schedulers gave us a killer matchup to feast our eyes on for the Wednesday night TNT game. The Boston Bruins (41-16-15) are heading to Amalie Arena for a clash with the Tampa Bay Lightning (39-25-7) for their third and final meeting of the year. Tampa Bay holds a 2-1 lead on the season series.

Boston Bruins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction

Boston is coming off of one their best wins of the year, they shafted us but hey they went out there and did the job. Trialing three separate times in the game including with just over four minutes on the clock in the third against one of the best closing teams and net minders in the league, they tied it and shocked the Cats taking the lead just two minutes later to snag a 4-3 win from the jaws of defeat to take solo lead in the Atlantic division. That took guts and proved a point, the Bruins are a force gearing up for the playoffs.

They have to go take on the other team from South Florida tonight though and that is no easy task. Tampa Bay has won four of their last five and is still trying to secure playoff positioning. After seeing the way Boston played Tuesday and getting two days off, I expect a strong effort from the Bolts. They are one of the hottest teams in the league and the super star trio of forward between Brayden Point, Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov has been lights out down the stretch here.

Two of three games this season have gone over between the two with both of those seeing nine or more goals; the lone under came in Boston last time they met in February and fell just one goal short of the number at 3-2. I like these teams to find the way over here despite the talent in goal.
