This Maiden Claimer is not the best race on the card, but does offer us one of our better bets. The pick is Just Ask Joel, who does need to bounce back from a poor run last time, (he had legitimate excuses - trip was too far), but boasts some of the best form on offer here with three really solid runs to start his career. If he bounces back to the level of those runs on this drop back to 7f, he’ll take some stopping.

Race 4 – PICK: Moro Charlie (2/1 ML)

Moro Charlie hasn’t won for a while, but also hasn’t run in a race this weak for a while and he should outclass them here in race 4. He’s been a winner over 6f in the past, but it’s 5f which is his best trip nowadays and has a good draw to capitalize on this. Paw’s Salty Pepper is unexposed and rates a danger.

Race 7 – PICK: Starship Zeus (8/5 ML)

Aqwaam is no doubt a danger here now dropping in grade, but the same can be said for Robertino Diodoro’s Starship Zeus who despite finishing sixth last time out (in a better race) was only beaten two lengths and has race conditions to favor here.

Race 8 – PICK: Kasilof (7/2 ML)

Kasilof was really impressive last time when a three length winner over track and trip and morning line odds look generous on his chances of following up. Despite being a four-year-old the selection has few miles on the clock and looks to make up for lost time this season.
