Saturday's racing at Keeneland includes the Blue Grass which sees Swiss Skydiver making her shot at history, here's Emily Shields' picks for the day
ANALYSIS

There are six major stakes races at Keeneland on Saturday, July 11, including a treble of Grade 1 races and a major Kentucky Derby prep in the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G2).

Watch and wager on all of the Keeneland action with TVG.

Race 4 - $150,000 Appalachian Stakes (G2) - Click here to bet with TVG

Best Bet: #6 Walk in Marrakesh (9-5 morning line) has always been a good sort, winning three times in England before coming to North America and missing by a nose in Grade 1 company in Canada. Jose Ortiz rides the filly, who has run decently in her last two starts but has been against some top-class competition. She looks to rebound here.

Race 5 - $250,000 Madison Stakes (G1) - Click here to bet with TVG

Best Bet of the Day: #7 Mia Mischief (3-1) broke her maiden on this track by more than 16 lengths. The 10-time winner has earned over $1.2 million and is a Grade 1 winner. Steve Asmussen will have the Into Mischief daughter primed for this. A lot of eyes are going to be on even-money Guarana, but Mia Mischief holds the value edge.

Race 6 – $150,000 Shakertown Stakes (G2) - Click here to bet with TVG

Best Bet: #8 Bound for Nowhere (5-2) won this race by four lengths in 2018, and ran second by a neck here last year. This six-time winner is two for four over the course. He was second by a head in his return to the races on March 21, but his best is more than enough for this field.

Longshot: #13 Leinster (12-1) has run on this course twice, with a win and a second to his credit. He was second in a Grade 2 here in October, and although he hasn’t won since August at Saratoga he fits with this group and should be in a good spot early.

Race 7 - $400,000 Central Bank Ashland (G1) - Click here to bet with TVG

Best Bet - #6 Speech (2-1) drew outside a small field. She has been knocking on the door for a big win after breaking her maiden by nine lengths in December. Michael McCarthy trains the daughter of Mr Speaker, who was second in the Santa Anita Oaks last out behind Swiss Skydiver. That filly is so good she’s facing males later on the card.

Race 8 - $350,000 Coolmore Jenny Wiley Stakes (G1) - Click here to bet with TVG

Best Bet: #4 Rushing Fall (6-5) is the obvious choice for a reason; she will be hard to beat. The Chad Brown trainee is four for five over this turf course and nine for 12 lifetime. She is a Breeders’ Cup winner, and the defending champion of this race. She can be defeated as shown in October last year, but her 2020 debut was ultra impressive.

Race 9 - $600,000 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G2) - Click here to bet with TVG

Best Bet: #3 Art Collector (5-1) has finished first in his last three starts and has progressed from six furlongs through 1 1/16 miles with the pedigree to run on even further. Thomas Drury trains the son of Bernardini, who will be ridden by Brian Hernandez, Jr. The horse he defeated last out, Shared Sense, came back to impressively romp in the Indiana Derby just days ago.
