Wednesday Racing Picks: Saratoga
Four picks on the card at Saratoga from that man John DaSilva, check out his analysis below:
RACE 4 – Pick #2 Hometown (9/2 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
Drew the rail for local and route debut after a troubled start and running evenly when making career debut at Churchill Downs in June. By Constitution, the hottest sire in the nation right now, out of a Storm Cat mare Home Court, which makes her a half to 2016 Grade 1 Alciabades Stakes winner Dancing Rags. Trained by up and coming trainer Rudolphe Brisset, Hometown will get overshadowed at the windows by the Todd Pletcher entry of Ajhar and Ashiam. But with expected improvement, Hometown will be a price worth taking here.
RACE 8 – Pick #8 Danny California (4-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
Stretches out for return to two turn racing after finishing third at Belmont in his last two starts. He defeated conditioned claimers in off the turf race in the slop at this distance in September in his last start over this course. He showed improved speed that day and she will be closer to the pace with the return to two turn racing. He is also reunited with Joel Rosario, was aboard him for that victory in September. With limited runners Noda has done very well at Saratoga the past couple of years.
RACE 9 – Pick #7 Breaking the Rules (3-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
Dropped from stakes company and came off the pace to win seasonal debut while going longer at Belmont last out. Former stakes winner stays in allowance company and should get a good place to close into versus these. John Velazquez was aboard last time out and retains the mount here for Shug, who is using this race as a prep for return to stakes company later this meet or this fall at Belmont. We should get a good price since the Chad Brown trainee Devamani, dropping from graded stakes company, should get overbet.
RACE 10 – Pick #8 American Goddess (6-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
Cuts back in distance after tiring to fourth when shipping up from Gulfstream Park for NYRA circuit debut. The Wesley Ward trainee shown improved speed in recent starts and with the switch to Jose Ortiz, should hold on for the victory versus these. Ward has been showing life after an inexplicable slow start to the year with his runners.
