Tuesday Racing Picks: Lone Star

Race 6 – Pick #1 Men of Kyle (12-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

Cuts back to sprint for return to dirt after tiring in state bred allowance last out. In her previous start she came off the pace to defeat state bred claimers impressively while going longer over this course. She won her last three starts versus state breds on dirt. With entrymate Moro Charlie, who is also capable of winning this race, doing the dirty work up front, Men of Kyle should have enough pace to close into and get the victory versus these.

Race 7 – Pick #2 Big One (8-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

Has been working well for career debut for Danny Pish, who wins at 19% with first time starters the past year. In the past five years, Pish wins at 23% with two year old first time starters. Pish is using Lane Luzzi and they win at 19% together. Big One will run with Lasix for his debut and Pish wins at 17% when giving Lasix to a horse for the first time. Horse is 8-1 because of Macho Uno declining numbers with firsters and the appearance of Dust Em, who ran fourth in the mud in career debut in June after a troubled start. Bjt with juveniles, you never know if they have learned their lesson so at the price, Big One is worth taking a shot with here.

Race 9 – Pick #3 Texas Warrior (10-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

 The probability of a horse lasting to victory after constant early pressure in this field are slim. It is recommended to find the best horses that will be running well in the stretch drive. Texas Warrior usually stalks the early pace and with a ground saving trip, should be in position to take advantage of the tiring pacesetters in the stretch drive. At this level going longer in the mud last out, he had to deal with a slow pace and ran evenly to be beaten two lengths while going off at odds of 15-1. With an expected faster pace, he should get up in time and win, like hie did at this distance when breaking maiden at Sam Houston in February 2019.
