The MLS All-Stars meet the Liga MX All-Stars on Wednesday night in the fifth edition of the interleague showcase. The match will be shown on Apple TV, with MLS listed as a slight +110 favorite, Liga MX priced at +170 and the draw available at +360.
MLS owns a 3-1 advantage in the series, but extensive substitutions and limited preparation add uncertainty to any All-Star matchup. Both teams possess dangerous attacking options, although several major absences and the recent history of this rivalry create a stronger case for the total than either side of the moneyline.

The MLS roster remains loaded despite Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul receiving rest following Argentina’s run to the World Cup final. Son Heung-Min enters with three goals and a league-leading 10 assists, Petar Musa leads the MLS Golden Boot race with 13 goals and Hany Mukhtar remains the creative leader of the Supporters’ Shield-leading Nashville SC. Thomas Müller, Evander, Sam Surridge, Anders Dreyer and Carles Gil provide additional attacking quality, but distributing minutes across a 29-player roster could prevent any one combination from establishing sustained rhythm.
Liga MX also arrives without several of its original headliners, including Keylor Navas, Gilberto Mora, Brian Rodríguez and Nahuel Guzmán. Salomón Rondón becomes the primary scoring threat after opening the Apertura season with three goals in two matches, while Juan Brunetta, Fernando Gorriarán and Carlos Rodríguez give the midfield experience and technical quality. Willer Ditta, Israel Reyes, Jesús Gallardo and Erik Lira strengthen a defensive group featuring several players with recent World Cup or Concacaf Champions Cup experience.
The rivalry has generally produced fewer goals than the All-Star label might suggest. The inaugural meeting finished 1-1 in 2021 before MLS won on penalties, while the 2022 matchup ended 2-1. Liga MX’s 4-1 victory in 2024 is the only one of the four previous meetings to exceed 4.5 goals, and MLS responded with a controlled 3-1 win last season. Three of the four games have therefore remained under Wednesday’s elevated number.
Both sides have enough talent to create chances, but the strongest attacking names are unlikely to play the full 90 minutes. Frequent substitutions can disrupt continuity rather than create constant offense, especially when players have had little time to train together. The absences of Messi, De Paul, Mora and Brian Rodríguez also remove several of the most creative players originally selected.
