Kansas City visits Houston on Saturday night with the matchup airing nationally on ION. The Current enters as the road favorite, with Kansas City moneyline available at -150, while Houston is a sizable home underdog. KC is 9-7-2 with 29 points and sits fifth in the NWSL standings, while the Dash enters at 5-8-4 with 19 points.
The Current has had a full week since its 1-1 draw with Angel City and remains unbeaten across its past two matches. That stretch began with a dominant 5-1 demolition of Racing Louisville, when Kansas City scored three times in the opening 20 minutes and received braces from Haley Hopkins and Debinha. Even without its full attacking group, KC has shown enough depth to create chances from several different positions.

Kansas City Current vs. Houston Dash Prediction
Hopkins has been particularly important, scoring in each of Kansas City’s past two matches and producing three goals and an assist last week. Croix Bethune has seven assists this season, the most ever by a Current player in a single regular season, while Debinha continues to provide another elite attacking option through midfield. Temwa Chawinga remains away on international duty with Malawi, while Michelle Cooper is out with a thigh injury, placing even more responsibility on the remaining attacking core.
Houston has been less convincing. The Dash enters after a 1-0 home loss to Gotham FC and has only five victories through 17 matches. Rookie Linda Ullmark has provided a bright spot and Houston has collected five points from its past three regular-season home meetings with Kansas City, but the overall attack has lacked the consistency required to regularly punish stronger opponents.
Kansas City already controlled this matchup once this season, winning 3-0 at CPKC Stadium on May 15 as Chawinga scored twice. The Current has won three of the past four regular-season meetings and leads the all-time series 6-4-3. Chawinga’s absence changes the attacking equation for the rematch, but KC still holds the stronger midfield, greater scoring depth and more reliable recent form.
The biggest concern is that this match is in Houston rather than Kansas City, where the Current has been particularly dominant. KC is also missing several players through injury and international duty. Even so, the week of rest should help a group coming off consecutive positive results, while Houston has struggled to create enough offense to consistently threaten top-half teams. Kansas City does not need another five-goal explosion to justify the price.
