The streak began with a controlled 2-0 victory at San Diego before Seattle survived a much more chaotic 3-2 battle against Bay FC last weekend. Mia Fishel and Maddie Dahlien helped build an early advantage before Bay responded, but veteran Jess Fishlock came off the bench and scored the 85th-minute winner. Maddie Mercado has also scored three times across Seattle’s past four matches, while Fishel has finally started converting her consistent attacking involvement into goals.
Angel City arrives in respectable form of its own after earning a 1-1 draw on the road against Kansas City Current. Rookie Taylor Suarez scored in the 14th minute before Kansas City equalized, and goalkeeper Angelina Anderson made six saves to preserve the point. Angel City has gone 3-1-1 under interim coach Leif Smerud, while Ally Sentnor and Gisele Thompson continue providing creativity around a group that has become difficult to break down.
Seattle has historically controlled this matchup, posting a 9-3-1 record across the first 13 meetings and outscoring Angel City 23-12.
