Angel City FC vs. Washington Spirit Prediction
Rodman has been at the center of everything. She scored five goals with one assist in July, including three match-winners, to earn NWSL Player of the Month honors. She scored again in last weekend's wild 4-3 loss to North Carolina and has eight goals with five assists across her past 12 regular-season appearances.
Washington does need a response after consecutive defeats, losing 1-0 against San Diego before the 4-3 setback against North Carolina. The Spirit still showed considerable attacking life in the second loss, with Rodman, Sofia Cantore and Rebeca Bernal all scoring as Washington nearly erased the deficit.
Angel City has become much harder to beat under interim coach Leif Smerud. It earned a 1-1 road draw against Kansas City before following with a 2-2 draw at Seattle, extending a respectable run that has pushed the club into the playoff conversation.
That improvement makes the road trip more difficult, but Washington owns the best individual attacking weapon in the matchup. Rodman also scored when these clubs drew 2-2 at BMO Stadium last season, and her current form gives Angel City's back line a much more difficult assignment than a typical home match.
