Vancouver enters as a rare road favorite at -110, with Seattle priced at +245 and the draw at +265. The Whitecaps lead the Western Conference at 10-3-4 with 34 points, while the Sounders are ninth at 7-7-3 with 24 points.
Seattle desperately needed its recent 3-0 Leagues Cup victory over Querétaro because it ended a club-record seven-game losing streak. The momentum did not last long, however, as the Sounders followed with a 2-1 home loss to Guadalajara and finished Phase One at just 1-2-0.

Sounders vs. Whitecaps Prediction
The larger MLS numbers are even more concerning. Seattle has scored only 20 league goals, the second-fewest in the Western Conference. Albert Rusnák remains the primary creator, while Paul Rothrock has become the leading scorer amid an injury-hit season, but consistent attacking production has been difficult to find.
Vancouver brings a completely different level of production. The Whitecaps lead the West with 38 goals while also allowing a conference-low 17, giving them the strongest statistical balance in the conference. Brian White already has 10 goals and two assists, while Thomas Müller, Ryan Gauld and Andrés Cubas give Vancouver considerably more proven quality throughout the lineup.
Seattle does have one major argument in its favor. The Sounders dominated Vancouver in the Concacaf Champions Cup earlier this year, winning 3-0 at BC Place before taking the second leg 2-1 for a 5-1 aggregate victory. That history prevents this from being an automatic road selection, especially inside Lumen Field.
The teams have moved in very different directions since that March series. Vancouver has established itself as the West’s top team after reaching both the MLS Cup and Champions Cup finals last season, while Seattle enters this matchup without an MLS victory since May 13. Vancouver’s Leagues Cup campaign was disappointing, but its underlying league performance remains substantially stronger.

Getting the superior current team at only -110 is difficult to pass up. Seattle’s home field and rivalry history create some risk, but Vancouver has been better offensively, better defensively and far more consistent throughout the MLS season. The Whitecaps have enough attacking weapons to punish a Seattle side that has spent most of the summer searching for answers.
