Houston is a -175 home favorite for Wednesday night's NWSL matchup, with the draw at +310 and Chicago +370 on the moneyline. CBS Sports Network will broadcast the match, while Both Teams To Score is available at -105 in a matchup between two clubs searching for points in the bottom half of the table. Houston enters 5-8-5 with 20 points, while Chicago is 4-14-1 with 13.
The Dash come home with some momentum after producing a wild 3-2 comeback victory at North Carolina on Sunday. Houston trailed twice before Kate Faasse scored in the first half and substitute Clarissa Larisey struck twice after halftime, including the winning goal in the 93rd minute. Houston has now scored 20 goals this season, but its 26 conceded show why games can quickly become open when the Dash are forced to chase.

Houston Dash vs. Chicago Stars Prediction
Houston's recent results also provide a reasonable foundation for another game with chances at both ends. Before beating North Carolina 3-2, the Dash drew Kansas City 1-1, lost 1-0 to Gotham, beat Bay FC 1-0 and drew Racing Louisville 1-1. Rookie production has become particularly important, with Houston's first-year players combining for a league-high 12 goals after Faasse scored her third of the season Sunday.
Chicago's attack is the much bigger question after being shut out in consecutive matches, drawing Bay FC 0-0 before losing 1-0 at Seattle on Friday. The Stars have scored only nine goals across 19 league games, but the personnel is capable of producing more than that total suggests. Mallory Swanson remains the obvious threat, while former Dash player Michelle Alozie has returned following international duty and gives interim coach Karina Báez another attacking option.
Chicago has already shown flashes of much better attacking soccer despite its overall record. The Stars came from behind to beat Utah 3-2 in July and scored in a 2-1 defeat at Racing Louisville earlier this month. Their defensive issues have been far more consistent, with Chicago allowing 34 goals, the highest total between these two clubs and a major reason Houston should create enough chances at home.
Recent head-to-head history has produced mixed results for this market. Houston won 2-1 in Chicago in March 2025 before taking the return meeting 1-0 at Shell Energy Stadium. The Dash have therefore found a way through Chicago's defense in each of the last two meetings, while the first of those showed the Stars can contribute when Houston gives away opportunities.
The strongest case for Both Teams To Score is the current game state rather than Chicago's season-long scoring numbers. Houston should attack a Stars defense that has conceded 34 times, but the Dash have also allowed 26 and just gave up twice to North Carolina. Chicago is desperate for a response after consecutive scoreless matches and a coaching change, while the return of Alozie gives Báez another way to stretch a Houston back line that has rarely been completely secure.

Houston is the more likely winner, but -175 is a relatively expensive price on a 5-8-5 team. Both Teams To Score at -105 instead attacks Houston's obvious offensive advantage without requiring the Dash to keep a clean sheet, while giving Chicago only one goal to contribute against a defense that has conceded in three of its last four matches.
