Chicago returned from the break with a 2-1 victory over Portland and followed it by beating Orlando 2-1 on the road Wednesday. New York Red Bulls vs. Chicago Fire Prediction
Lewandowski adds another elite finisher to an attack that already featured Hugo Cuypers, Philip Zinckernagel and Robin Lod. Cuypers had already reached double-digit goals before the World Cup break, and Chicago's increased attacking depth gives Gregg Berhalter more options when opponents try to take away one primary scorer.
New York enters after consecutive 2-1 and 1-0 losses to Atlanta and Nashville. The Red Bulls held Nashville scoreless until stoppage time Wednesday before Maxwell Woledzi finally broke through, but another defeat leaves New York searching for answers after returning from the break with much less consistency than Chicago.
There is an obvious revenge element after New York won 3-1 at Soldier Field on May 9. Jorge Ruvalcaba, Cade Cowell and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored in that meeting before Cuypers added a late consolation goal. That result remains the strongest warning against blindly following current form.
The teams look different now. Chicago has added Lewandowski and arrives with consecutive wins, while New York has lost twice in five days and must recover quickly after a physical matchup with league-leading Nashville. The Red Bulls' high-pressure style can still make this uncomfortable, but Chicago has much more attacking quality available than it did in May.

Getting +120 on the hotter team is difficult to pass up. Chicago has already gone into Orlando and won this week, so there is little reason to treat another road environment as prohibitive. The Fire have a chance to reverse the first head-to-head result while pushing further ahead of New York in the East.
