Club América and Columbus kick off at 10:45 PM ET from Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. América is the -130 regulation favorite, Columbus is +340 and the draw is +245, with the winner advancing to face Monterrey in the semifinals.
Both teams were unbeaten in regulation during Phase One. América collected seven points by beating San Diego FC and Portland 3-1 before drawing Austin 1-1, while Columbus defeated Atlas 3-1 and Pachuca 2-1 before a 1-1 draw and shootout victory over Pumas. Their form since returning to domestic league play, however, has gone in completely different directions.

Club América vs. Columbus Crew Prediction
América enters on top of the Liga MX table with four wins and one draw through its first five league matches. Las Águilas have won four of their last five games overall and already scored seven times during Leagues Cup Phase One, continuing to produce from several different areas of the attack.
Brian Rodríguez has been one of the tournament's standout players for América with two goals and an assist, while Isaías Violante has also scored twice. Henry Martín provides another proven threat through the middle and enters after a two-goal Liga MX performance. That collection of attacking options makes América difficult to contain for 90 minutes because stopping one creator rarely shuts down the entire offense.
Columbus looked like a completely different team during Phase One. The Crew went unbeaten, scored six goals and immediately received a major contribution from summer signing Brais Méndez, who recorded a goal contribution in each of their three matches. The club also knows how to win this competition after capturing the 2024 Leagues Cup title.
The concern is everything that has happened since. Columbus has lost three consecutive MLS matches following the Leagues Cup opening round and sits second-to-last in the Eastern Conference. The latest defeat was particularly painful, with the Crew surrendering two stoppage-time goals in a 3-2 loss to Nashville after appearing positioned to take all three points.
There is meaningful history between these clubs as well. Columbus demolished América 4-1 during the 2023 Leagues Cup, while América got revenge when the teams met again the following year, advancing through a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw. Wednesday's quarterfinal therefore serves as another chapter between two teams that have already traded memorable results.
The California venue should also benefit América more than the neutral-site designation suggests. Columbus loses the home environment it enjoyed throughout Phase One and has won only once on the road this MLS season, while América should have substantial support from its enormous Southern California fanbase.

Columbus is talented enough to make this uncomfortable, particularly if Méndez and the transition attack reproduce their Phase One form. The problem is trusting a team that has immediately followed an unbeaten Leagues Cup run with three straight domestic losses against an América side that has barely put a foot wrong all month. At -130, the regulation moneyline is short enough to back the more stable contender.
