Taylor Fritz vs. Carlos Alcaraz Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest Odds for Wimbledon Semifinal

Taylor Fritz and Carlos Alcaraz will take center stage at Wimbledon on Friday morning, with Fritz coming in as a huge underdog but the last chance for the U.S. to find their way to a rare Wimbledon Final.

Alcaraz looked a little shaky in the early rounds of the tournament, but appears to be hitting his stride when it matters most. He just smoked fan-favorite Cameron Norrie in front of his home crowd, and is set up to cruise again in this semifinal.

Taylor Fritz has reached only his second-ever Grand Slam semifinal, following up on his US Open appearance in 2024. He's also the first American to make the Wimbledon semi's since John Isner in 2018. It's a lot of pressure to represent the American men at this stage, where they've failed to see major success against the European juggernauts over the last decade.

The odds are stacked against Fritz in this one, as he finds himself as a +450 underdog against Carlos Alcaraz (-600). That gives the Spaniard a roughly 85% chance to advance to the Wimbledon Final as he tries to complete a three-peat. We'd call it rare, but Djokovic did it in the three years before Alcaraz's recent run.

Does Fritz have any shot against the French Open Champ in this 2025 Wimbledon Men's Singles Semifinal? Let's take a look at the complete Fritz vs. Alcaraz odds ahead of this first semi.

Taylor Fritz vs. Carlos Alcaraz Prediction

Carlos Alcaraz took the sporting world by storm at the French Open Final, coming back from down two sets and several Championship points to stun Jannik Sinner in a five-set, five-hour thriller. It was the longest French Open Final ever, and he showed his true grit with the miraculous comeback. He's playing with even greater confidence now, and Taylor Fritz is not someone that is going to stand in his way here on the path to his three-peat.

Alcaraz has never lost a set to Fritz, and is 2-0 against him in his career. He's also been dominant lately on grass, rolling to a victory in the Queen's Club Tournament just before Wimbledon.

As a result of being heavily favored in this matchup, Alcaraz is -125 in the outright winner market ahead of the semifinals. Sinner trails him at +225 due to taking on a much more challenging opponent in Novak Djokovic as well as a minor elbow injury.

While Fritz may be ranked 5th in the world, he's struggled to win the big matches. As we noted, this will only be his second major semifinal, and he's squared up against the toughest test in tennis. He started off the tournament with quite a stressor, going to five sets in both of his first two matches. He was down 2-0 to an unseeded opponent in the very first round last week.

He has recovered nicely, but was lucky to be gifted a walkover in the Round of 16 before taking down Karen Kachanov in the quarterfinal. None of his opponents have come close to the skill level of Alcaraz, and he will feel the pressure early.

I have a hard time seeing this one go the distance, and it could be over very early. Alcaraz is +120 to win 3-0, which is impressive respect from the oddsmakers for a Grand Slam Semifinal. They may only be separated by 3 spots in the rankings, but there is a sizable gap in the skill level. Alcaraz and Sinner are just on another level right now, and no one has found a way to beat either of them consistently.

Alcaraz has also been known to play down to the competition a bit in the early rounds, but does not mess around at this late stage. Fritz can beat who he's supposed to beat, but rarely finds an upset above him against a top talent like this.

Instead of soaking the juice on something like Alcaraz -600, let's look to the total games market and find Fritz vs. Alcaraz at Under 37.5 games. Even if he doesn't win 3-0, Alcaraz can hit this under if he wins a couple of the sets by scores like 6-2 or 6-3. Fritz would be lucky to win one set in this one at best, and it will be very hard to force that over unless a tiebreak occurs.
