Terence Atmane vs. Alejandro Tabilo Prediction
Atmane recovered from a set down to defeat No. 6 seed Frances Tiafoe 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. He remained composed after losing the opener, began attacking Tiafoe’s second serve more aggressively and secured the decisive break late in the third set. Atmane then served out the match without allowing the American crowd or the magnitude of the upset to disrupt him. The victory improved his record against Top 20 opponents this season and followed an earlier win over Felix Auger-Aliassime in Miami.
Tabilo also needed three sets in his opening match, defeating Tallon Griekspoor 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-4. The Chilean protected his serve through several important pressure situations and used his left-handed forehand to keep Griekspoor from consistently controlling rallies. It was a strong response after dropping the second set, but the lengthy match required more physical work than Atmane’s upset and exposed stretches in which Tabilo struggled to maintain his aggression.
This will be the first professional meeting between Atmane and Tabilo. Tabilo owns the greater résumé and has already reached the upper portion of the ATP rankings, but his current level is more established than ascending. Atmane remains in only his second full season at this level and is still adding new dimensions to a game built around a powerful left-handed serve, aggressive forehand and improving movement.
Tabilo’s experience makes him dangerous in a match priced close to a pick’em, especially if he can drag Atmane into uncomfortable patterns and expose his occasional impatience. However, Atmane showed against Tiafoe that he can adjust during a match rather than simply relying on early power. His ability to recover from a poor opening set and finish decisively provides the stronger indication of current form.

The market offers almost no separation between the players, making momentum and upside particularly important. Tabilo is capable of taking a set, but Atmane possesses the heavier first-strike offense and enters with increased confidence after defeating the hometown favorite. The Frenchman’s game is developing quickly, and another aggressive performance should carry him into the Washington quarterfinals.
