Auger-Aliassime enters as a relatively short -135 favorite, with Tsitsipas available at +111. That is an intriguing price considering FAA sits at a career-high World No. 4 while Tsitsipas has only recently climbed back inside the Top 50 following one of the worst stretches of his career.
The biggest argument for Tsitsipas is the matchup itself. He owns a commanding 7-3 career advantage against Auger-Aliassime and has won their past two meetings, beating him 6-3, 7-6(4) at the 2023 Paris Masters before dominating the 2025 Dubai final 6-3, 6-3. Tsitsipas saved all seven break points he faced in Dubai and controlled the longer baseline exchanges.

Tsitsipas has also finally started showing signs of life after a disastrous opening half of 2026. He won his first title in 16 months at Gstaad last month and opened Cincinnati by beating Valentin Royer 7-6(4), 7-5. He nearly complicated that match after leading 5-2 in the second set, but recovered to close it out on his sixth match point.
This betting setup looks strikingly similar to his Washington opener against Alex de Minaur. Tsitsipas was again around +111 despite facing an elite opponent because of his historically strong matchup profile, and he pushed the World No. 6 into three sets before losing 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. The performance showed the resurgence is real, but also reinforced that Tsitsipas has struggled to finish these matches against players currently operating at a higher level.
There is one obvious concern with backing Auger-Aliassime. He withdrew from Montreal immediately before his first match because of a back injury, saying the issue had become severe enough that he essentially could not serve. Cincinnati will therefore be his first competitive appearance since reaching the Wimbledon quarterfinals.
That uncertainty is also a major reason the World No. 4 is available at only -135 against the No. 49 player. FAA is 30-14 this season and already owns a title in Montpellier, while Tsitsipas needed a recent clay title simply to begin rebuilding his ranking. The market is heavily respecting both the 7-3 head-to-head and Auger-Aliassime's back issue.

Tsitsipas has enough history and renewed confidence to make this uncomfortable, just as he did against de Minaur in Washington. The difference is that FAA's current ceiling is considerably higher, and the modest -135 price already discounts the injury concern and poor matchup history. Tsitsipas may again take a set or make the favorite work, but Auger-Aliassime is the stronger player right now and should eventually handle the business.
