Jodar enters as a heavy -267 favorite, with Tabilo available at +211. The price has climbed considerably as the 19-year-old continues his rapid ascent, making the straight moneyline expensive despite his recent run of victories.
Cincinnati nearly produced an immediate exit. Jodar lost the second set against Denis Shapovalov and trailed 5-1 in the third before saving two match points and completing a remarkable 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 comeback. It was much shakier than most of his recent performances, but surviving that situation could provide another confidence boost.

The larger body of work remains excellent. Jodar reached his first Masters 1000 semifinal in Montreal after beating Corentin Moutet, Lorenzo Musetti, Jiri Lehecka and Arthur Fils, dropping only one set before Brandon Nakashima finally stopped him 7-6(3), 6-4. He entered that semifinal with a 34-12 season record and had climbed to the edge of the Top 10.
Tabilo is not an opponent Jodar can overlook. The Chilean beat Jan-Lennard Struff 6-3, 6-4 in his Cincinnati opener and has already shown this summer that his left-handed game can trouble elite opponents on hard courts.
These two just met in the Washington semifinals on outdoor hard courts. Tabilo took the opening set before Jodar gradually took control and rallied for a 6-7(6), 6-4, 6-4 victory, reaching his first ATP 500 final. The match lasted two hours and 23 minutes, so the previous result was considerably closer than Monday's moneyline suggests.
The difference is how much Jodar has accomplished since then. He followed Washington with a deep Montreal run and has continued proving that his game translates beyond the clay courts where he first built his reputation. The Shapovalov escape was messy, but it also prevented one poor performance from ending his momentum completely.

Tabilo took a set from him in Washington, yet Jodar has since raised his level against stronger opposition and should be better prepared for the matchup the second time around. After surviving his Cincinnati scare, this is a strong spot for the teenager to settle down and re-establish control.
