Fils is a heavy -372 moneyline favorite against Tirante +285 in Thursday night's Cincinnati Open quarterfinal. Rather than laying nearly four dollars on the favorite, Fils to win 2-0 sets at -120 provides a much more usable way to back the Frenchman on Cincinnati's outdoor hard courts.
Tirante has authored one of the best runs of his career. He stunned Novak Djokovic 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 earlier in the tournament, followed that with consecutive tiebreak victories over Martin Landaluce and then rallied past No. 14 seed Jakub Mensik 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 in the round of 16. That victory sent Tirante into the first Masters 1000 quarterfinal of his career.

The Argentine deserves credit for repeatedly surviving difficult situations, but those matches have also required enormous effort. He has already needed multiple comeback victories and three sets against both Djokovic and Mensik, with Wednesday's win over Mensik lasting more than two hours.
Fils has looked considerably more controlled. He opened with a 7-6(5), 6-1 win over Yannick Hanfmann, beat Jiri Lehecka 6-1, 6-7(7), 6-3 and then produced his best performance of the tournament against Alex de Minaur, winning 6-3, 6-4 in just over an hour.
That victory over de Minaur was significant because it showed how difficult Fils becomes when his first-strike offense is functioning. The Australian is one of the Tour's best defenders and still struggled to disrupt Fils' rhythm. The Frenchman has now reached five Masters 1000 quarterfinals in 2026, a level of week-to-week consistency Tirante has never previously produced at this tier.
This will be their first tour-level meeting, so there is no direct head-to-head trend to lean on. Tirante's biggest route to making it competitive is his serve and the confidence accumulated from upsetting Djokovic and Mensik, but Fils brings more pace from both wings and should be able to punish the Argentine whenever rallies settle into neutral patterns.
