Arthur Fery vs. Mees Rottgering Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest Winston-Salem Open Odds - Wednesday, August 26th

Arthur Fery and teenage qualifier Mees Rottgering meet in Wednesday's Winston-Salem Open Round of 16 with both entering off straight-sets victories. Fery is the established favorite, but Rottgering has already turned his qualifying run into one of the tournament's biggest stories.

Arthur Fery vs. Mees Rottgering Prediction: Can Fery Roll in Winston Salem Open on Wednesday?

Fery and Rottgering are scheduled for a 3:10 PM ET start on Stadium Court. Fery is a heavy -233 moneyline favorite against Rottgering at +187, but the straight-sets market provides a much more appealing return on the British No. 4 seed.

Fery has enjoyed a breakthrough season, climbing to No. 37 in the world with a 27-14 record. He is 10-5 on hard courts and already produced one of the stories of the tennis summer with a deep Wimbledon run that included a victory over Flavio Cobolli before finally running into Alexander Zverev.

Arthur Fery vs. Mees Rottgering Prediction

His Winston-Salem opener looked exactly like a top-four seed should. Fery beat Cruz Hewitt 6-1, 7-5, winning 72 of the match's 125 points and breaking the Australian five times. The second set became more competitive, but Fery still finished the match without requiring a decider.

Rottgering cannot be treated as a routine +187 underdog. The 19-year-old came through qualifying and has now won four matches in Winston-Salem, most recently stunning No. 14 seed Tomas Machac 6-2, 7-6. He entered the tournament ranked No. 389 and is quickly pushing that number upward.

The difference is workload and proven ceiling. Rottgering has already needed four wins just to reach this point and had to play again Tuesday, while Fery received a first-round bye and needed only two sets against Hewitt. At this stage of the week, that discrepancy begins to matter.

There is also a substantial gap in experience against top-level opponents. Fery has already shown he can beat elite players across five-set Grand Slam tennis, while Rottgering is only now building his first meaningful ATP main-draw run. This will be their first meeting, so the teenager also loses the advantage of having an established matchup pattern.

Arthur Fery vs. Mees Rottgering Best Bet

The -233 moneyline is too expensive for a player facing a hot qualifier, but +110 on the 2-0 result changes the equation. Fery has the fresher legs, superior returning level and enough confidence after his Wimbledon breakthrough to avoid letting the underdog turn this into another extended upset bid.
