Kecmanovic and Shapovalov are scheduled for approximately 1:50 PM ET in New York. Shapovalov is a -140 favorite with Kecmanovic at +111, leaving the Canadian at a relatively modest price despite controlling this matchup throughout their careers.
The head-to-head history is difficult to overlook. Shapovalov has won all five of their ATP-level meetings, and every one came on a hard court. Their most recent matchup was in Dallas last season, where Shapovalov prevailed 6-3, 6-7, 6-3.

Miomir Kecmanovic vs. Denis Shapovalov Prediction
Several of those meetings have been close, so Kecmanovic clearly has enough baseline stability to make Shapovalov work. The important part is that he has repeatedly failed to finish the job. Shapovalov's left-handed serve, aggressive first-strike tennis and ability to shorten points have consistently created problems for the Serbian.
Neither player has been particularly trustworthy this summer. Kecmanovic enters with a 9-11 hard-court record in 2026 and most recently beat Sho Shimabukuro before losing 6-3, 6-4 to Fabian Marozsan in Winston-Salem.
Shapovalov is 8-9 on hard courts and arrives after a brutal Cincinnati loss to Rafael Jodar. He led 5-1 in the deciding set and had an opportunity to close the match before losing six consecutive games. That collapse is concerning, but the early exit also gave him roughly two weeks to physically reset before New York.
There is a major difference in US Open ceilings as well. Shapovalov reached the quarterfinals here in 2020 and has shown throughout his career that the atmosphere and quicker hard courts fit his aggressive game. Kecmanovic has never progressed beyond the second round.

Shapovalov is always capable of creating unnecessary complications with double faults and rushed errors, so this is unlikely to feel comfortable from beginning to end. Still, a 5-0 ATP head-to-head record on the exact surface being played is too substantial to ignore at only -140.
