Arthur Fery vs. Lorenzo Musetti Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest US Open Odds for Tuesday, September 1st

Arthur Fery and Lorenzo Musetti meet in one of Tuesday's most intriguing US Open opening-round matches. Fery arrives after an extraordinary summer that has transformed his career, while Musetti remains the more established Grand Slam contender and should have the larger arsenal if the match extends deep into four or five sets.

Arthur Fery vs. Lorenzo Musetti Prediction: Will Fery Give Musetti Trouble in US Open First Round?

Fery and Musetti are scheduled for a 12:10 PM ET start, with Musetti a heavy -409 favorite and Fery available at +296. Musetti enters ranked No. 14, while Fery has surged all the way to No. 37 after beginning the season far outside this level.

Fery has been one of the biggest breakout stories of 2026. He reached the Wimbledon semifinals as an unseeded player, then continued proving that result was not simply a grass-court anomaly by carrying his form onto North American hard courts. He enters New York around a career-high ranking after spending much of last season dealing with injuries and lower-level events.

Arthur Fery vs. Lorenzo Musetti Prediction

The final US Open tune-up was another statement. Fery reached the Winston-Salem final after beating Cruz Hewitt, Mees Rottgering, Aleksandar Kovacevic and James Duckworth. His quarterfinal against Kovacevic was especially impressive because Fery recovered from a 6-3 opening-set loss to win 7-5, 6-3 and advance.

That recent pattern makes the both-players-to-win-a-set portion attractive. Fery has repeatedly shown the ability to recover after losing opening sets, but he has also been vulnerable enough early in matches to make clean straight-set scripts difficult to trust. He is talented, confident and dangerous without necessarily being dominant from the opening game.

Musetti should ultimately present a different level of problem. His ability to change pace, vary spin and defend from difficult positions can disrupt Fery's preferred attacking rhythm, while his one-handed backhand gives him several ways to redirect the Brit's pace rather than simply absorbing it.

There is no previous head-to-head meeting, so Fery enters without the benefit of already knowing how Musetti's variety feels in a competitive match. Musetti also has substantially more experience navigating best-of-five tennis and has already been ranked as high as No. 5.

Arthur Fery vs. Lorenzo Musetti Best Bet

Fery is playing far too well to treat like a routine +300 underdog, particularly after another deep tournament run immediately before New York. One set is realistic. Sustaining that level long enough to win three against Musetti after a demanding Winston-Salem week is a much bigger challenge.
