Giron and Buse are scheduled for a 4:30 PM ET start on Stadium 17, with Buse favored at -148 despite facing an American veteran on home soil. Buse has surged to around No. 30 in the rankings, while Giron has fallen into the high 70s after a much less consistent season.
Buse could hardly enter with more confidence. His Winston-Salem run included victories over Adam Walton, Daniel Altmaier, Juan Manuel Cerundolo and Benjamin Bonzi before he handled Arthur Fery 6-3, 6-2 in the final.

Marcos Giron vs. Ignacio Buse Prediction
The impressive part was how many different types of matches he survived. Buse won tight sets, recovered from deficits and handled three-set battles before producing his cleanest tennis in the championship match. He did not simply catch one upset. He consistently beat quality opposition over an entire week.
There is already useful head-to-head evidence against Giron. Buse beat the American 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 at Queen's in June, surviving a poor opening set and then winning a deciding tiebreak 10-8. He therefore enters New York knowing he can outlast Giron when the margins get extremely tight.
Giron's home-court experience cannot be dismissed. He has spent years facing high-level opponents on North American hard courts and has been ranked as high as No. 37. If Buse experiences any physical hangover after playing through Saturday in Winston-Salem, Giron is experienced enough to exploit it.
That fatigue angle is the primary concern. Buse had very little time to recover from winning an ATP tournament before preparing for a best-of-five Grand Slam match. However, the final itself lasted only two sets, and the confidence created by lifting a trophy can be just as valuable as the rest he sacrificed.

Buse has won this matchup before, arrives playing the best tennis of his career and has repeatedly produced his strongest level in deciding moments. Until that momentum disappears, there is no reason to move away from him simply because the tournament name changed.
