Etcheverry and Navone are scheduled for approximately 5:00 PM ET on Court 11. Etcheverry is around -120 and Navone is available at -105, leaving almost no separation in an all-Argentine matchup where current confidence may matter more than ranking.
Navone entered the tournament known primarily as a clay-court player and immediately produced the biggest upset of Round 1. He beat Djokovic 7-6, 5-7, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, handing the 24-time major champion his first opening-round Grand Slam loss since 2006.

Instead of suffering the expected emotional letdown, Navone backed it up. He lost the opening set to Berrettini and then won 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6, closing the match against one of the biggest servers in the draw. He won 69% of second-serve points and saved seven of nine break chances.
Those two victories completely change his hard-court profile entering Friday. Navone openly acknowledged that he barely played on hard courts until a few years ago, but beating Djokovic and Berrettini consecutively in New York is difficult to dismiss as a surface weakness anymore.
Etcheverry has been solid as well. He beat Jacob Fearnley 6-3, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in Round 2, breaking seven times and controlling most of the match despite losing the third set. His larger serve and more established hard-court résumé explain why he remains the slight favorite.
The history is all Etcheverry, but it is ancient by current standards. He leads the rivalry 2-0, beating Navone 6-3, 6-0 at an ITF event in 2019 and 6-4, 6-1 at the Montevideo Challenger in 2022. Both matches were on clay and both came before Navone developed into the player he is now.
That gives Friday a legitimate revenge angle without overstating the old results. This is their first hard-court meeting and their first at this level, while Navone enters with confidence that could hardly be higher after eliminating two marquee veterans.
