Vacherot and Tiafoe are scheduled for approximately 7:00 PM ET, with Tiafoe a slight -123 favorite and Vacherot available at +153. The moneyline is difficult to separate, making Over 40.5 total games the better way to approach a matchup that has legitimate four-set and five-set potential.
Tiafoe's tournament has already shown both extremes. He barely survived Martin Damm in the first round, rallying from two sets to one down to win 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a match that lasted nearly four hours. Damm's huge serve caused problems throughout, but Tiafoe eventually leaned on his experience and the New York crowd to survive.

Valentin Vacherot vs. Frances Tiafoe Prediction
Round 2 was much cleaner. Tiafoe beat Rei Sakamoto 6-3, 7-6, 7-5, advancing in straight sets despite both of the final two sets becoming competitive late. He was broken twice and needed a tiebreak in the second, another example of why even his successful matches at this tournament can produce plenty of games.
The American also entered New York in strong form after reaching the Cincinnati final. His level is clearly good enough to make another deep US Open run, and he has already reached the semifinals here twice. The problem is that Tiafoe has rarely been a player worth trusting to dominate every set, especially against opponents capable of serving and absorbing his first-strike offense.
Vacherot is exactly that type of opponent. The World No. 23 opened his tournament by sweeping Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-2, 6-3, 7-5, then beat Kamil Majchrzak 6-4, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 in the second round. He hit 17 aces against Majchrzak and won 81% of his first-serve points, showing why his ranking has continued to climb.
The four-set Majchrzak victory is particularly useful for this total. Vacherot can play long service games and create tiebreak sets, but he is also capable of dropping one without losing control of the match. That type of back-and-forth profile creates exactly the game volume needed to reach the low 40s.
This will be the first career meeting between Tiafoe and Vacherot, adding another layer of uncertainty. Tiafoe does not have an established tactical blueprint against him, while Vacherot gets a chance to attack a favorite who has already been pushed deep into matches by two very different opponents.

There is not enough separation to force the moneyline. Tiafoe may ultimately use the crowd and his Grand Slam experience to survive, but Vacherot is playing well enough to take at least one set and potentially push this all the way to five. A result like 7-6, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 already produces 45 games without requiring a decider.
