Over half of England fans think going to the World Cup in Russia is too dangerous

52% of England fans think its “too dangerous” to attend the World Cup in Russia.

With potential crowd trouble overshadowing this year’s World Cup, over half of the England fans we asked think it’s “too dangerous” to travel over to Russia.

In an exclusive survey carried out by Oddschecker, 52% of all respondents said that they had fears for their safety if they chose to travel to the former-Soviet state.

Out of 1,500 respondents, over half of answers claimed it would not be deemed in the interest of fan safety to go to the major tournament.

Elsewhere, when posed the question “Do you think England fans should go to the World Cup, or boycott’, 34% of respondents said they would indeed boycott.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “One on-going story that will permeate the World Cup is how Russian fans integrate with English fans, to put it lightly.

“The run-up to the tournament has been divisive to say the least, and the number of fans travelling to the country will be drastically less than at the Euros in France.

“Out of the fans we asked, a whopping 52% said that they didn’t think it would be safe enough to travel over – a damning indictment for what’s supposed to be an all-inclusive competition.”
