The final day will have everything to play for, who will be celebrating come 2.30pm Sunday?
It promises to be a huge day next Sunday as 45 games become meaningless and one 90 minutes will decide the fate of a host of teams in the second tier.
The race for second is a straight shootout between Cardiff and Fulham, with both teams keeping on winning, meaning that two points separate the Bluebirds and the Cottagers.
Cardiff are in the driving seat and are 2/7 for a Top Two finish, with Reading at home their final game: A win enough for a return to the Premier League.
Fulham meanwhile have to go to Birmingham (who still aren’t safe) and will hope to do their bit. They are currently 13/4 to snatch the last automatic spot.
In terms of the betting, it is Cardiff that have been heavily favoured. 68% of bets have gone on the Welsh club, compared to just 32% for Fulham.
It will be hard for either team should they drop into the Playoffs, but one team will have to miss out. As it is, Fulham are 7/4 to win the Playoffs, with Cardiff 10/1.
Meanwhile, Preston are being heavily backed to reach the Playoffs, after they beat Sheffield United yesterday to keep their hopes alive.
Alex Neil has flown under the radar this season but could yet pip a place and cause an almighty upset. They have to beat Burton and hope Derby bottle it once again and lose to Barnsley.
The Lilywhites are 6/1 to make it, however 55% of the ‘To Make The Playoffs’ bets since 5pm yesterday have gone on just that, with many people maybe looking at Derby’s recent record when it comes to crunch games as reasoning behind this.
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “There’s all to play for on the final day of the Championship season and it is Cardiff and Preston that are being backed for 2nd and 6th respectively. The Bluebirds have been there or thereabouts all season and it would be heart breaking to miss out now, but Fulham have been there every step of the way.
“Meanwhile Preston could get in yet, but it would take a Derby collapse to do so – never say never!”
