Laurent Blanc has odds dramatically cut on becoming next Man United manager

Blanc has been cut from 25/1 into just 8/1 third favourite.

Former PSG head coach Laurent Blanc has had his odds dramatically cut on becoming next Manchester United manager, following a flurry of bets.

Blanc has been cut from 25/1 to just 8/1 to become the next permanent Red Devils boss if Jose Mourinho is to leave the club.

The ex-United player is being linked with a potential return to the club in a managerial capacity, and punters have been quick to lump their money on it happening.

In total, 36% of all bets in the last 24 hours have been placed on Blanc going to Old Trafford, with money continuing to pile in on the Frenchman making the move to the Premier League.

Elsewhere, Zinedine Zidane is still favourite for the hot-seat at 5/2, followed by Antonio Conte who has been cut to just 6/1 and Mauricio Pochettino at 10/1

Blanc toted up 11 domestic trophies in his three years in charge at the French giants, with the 52-year-old reportedly relieved of his duties due to failings in the Champions League.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “A problem with sacking managers early in the season can be a dearth of quality replacements, but Manchester United could have plenty of options should they axe Jose Mourinho.

“Zinedine Zidane is the obvious replacement, but Laurent Blanc enjoyed a spell as a player at Old Trafford and he is the emerging punters' pick.”
