Bookmakers have cut odds on both Scottish teams competing in the Europa League, qith Celtic and Rangers being unanimously cut by 25 different bookmakers.
Celtic’s win in their opening encounter at home to Rosenberg has resulted in them being halved in price, from 100/1 into as short as 50/1.
Over on the other side of Glasgow, Steven Gerrard’s men have also been unanimously cut for Europa League glory, from 250/1 into 100/1 following their battled draw away at Villarreal.
In fact, Rangers are now among the most backed teams to win the Europa League following last night’s result, with 11% of all bets placed on the Ibrox side. Chelsea are the most backed to win it with 35% of bets, followed by RB Leipzig with 19%.
There’s also been plenty of action from punters backing Celtic and Rangers to top their groups, with both having their chances cut in half.
Rangers have been cut from 8/1 to top the group into just 9/2, whilst last night’s Spanish opposition are favourites at 4/5.
Brendan Rodgers' side have been cut in half from 4/1 to 2/1 following their 1-0 win, with Leigh Griffiths grabbing the winner.
