That’s prompted bookies to slash odds on Lafferty finishing top of the individual table, from 25/1 at the start of the month, into just 11/2.
Lafferty is currently the second highest scorer in the league with four goals, only trailing ex-Hearts teammate Steven Naismith, who has 5.
The current bookies favourite to win the individual award is Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard at 5/1, followed by Alfredo Morelos at 11/2, the same price as Lafferty.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Lafferty has made the perfect start to life at Rangers and, with Celtic struggling to impose themselves on the league, could be set to top the scoring charts."
“He may have only mustered double figures three times in league, but looks set to smash past his career best of 12.”
