Mourinho's future is looking bleak after shock cup exit to Derby County.
Paul Pogba is likely to outlast Jose Mourinho at Manchester United following last night’s exit from the cup, according to bookmakers.
They make it 1/3 that the French midfielder stays at Old Trafford for a longer period of time than boss Mourinho, who is under increasing pressure.
Last night’s dumping from the cup has resulted in a flurry of bets on Mourinho leaving the Premier League side, with 685 of all bets in the last 24 hours backing him to leave.
It’s now 9/4 that Mourinho outstays Pogba at Old Trafford, with tensions over style of play though to be the catalyst for their reported fall-out.
Mourinho has been cut from 8/1 just two days ago, to as short as 6/4 to be the next manager to leave their post.
Elsewhere, Manuel Pellegrini is the second favourite at 6/1, followed by Neil Warnock (6/1), Mark Hughes (8/1), Claude Puel (17/2) and Rafa Benitez (9/1).
In terms of Pogba’s next club, Barcelona are clear favourites at 2/1, followed by a return to Juventus at 6/1. Real Madrid are 10/1 and PSG are 12/1.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “Despite refusing to confirm the falling-out, Jose Mourinho's actions towards his star midfielder have all but done so anyway.
“With speculation rife around the Portuguese manager's job, Manchester United would surely be reluctant to sell Pogba before any future change in management.”
