21 British bookies are no longer offering odds on Mourinho leaving the Red Devils.
A total of 21 bookmakers have suspended betting on Jose Mourinho being sacked ahead of Manchester United’s game with Newcastle on Saturday evening.
The under pressure Portuguese boss was as short as 1/7 to be the first Premier League manager to leave his post this morning, however, only two bookmakers are currently offering odds.
Those bookies have Mourinho at 1/5 to be sacked, implying an 83.3% chance that he’s the first Prem boss to leave. That’s comfortably ahead of his second closest rival, Neil Warnock who is 10/1.
This is despite the club reporting that rumours of Mourinho's imminent dismissal are 'nonsense'.
As it stands, Zinedine Zidane is 4/5 favourite to be the man to replace the 55-year-old at Old Trafford.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Across the country, bookies have suspended their markets on which Premier League manager will be the first to be relieved of their duties.
“As pressure continues to mount on Jose Mourinho, so does the money being lumped on him to leave. In total of 93% of bets have been placed on Mourinho being the first to go, over the last week.”
