The Bees are in need of a manager since Dean Smith departed for Villa Park.
Champions League winning manager Roberto Di Matteo has had his odds slashed on becoming the next Brentford boss, following a flurry of bets on the Italian.
Di Matteo has been cut from 12/1 this morning, into just 7/2 second favourite for the job, signifying a massive move in the market.
He’s been the most backed in the last hour, attracting 56% of all bets in the time period, more than current favourite Thomas Frank, who is 1/2.
Elsewhere, Nathan Jones is 12/1 third favourite, followed by Danny Cowley (16/1), Michael Appleton (16/1) and ex-Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal (18/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “Di Matteo's last job was ironically at Aston Villa back in 2016 and, despite his previous credentials, there have to be question marks about his ability to manage at this level.
“Brentford have had great success in tapping into unknown markets, so this name really has come out of the blue.”
