Could the Spurs boss finally be off to the La Liga giants?
It’s been a very diverse market when it comes to who could take over at Real Madrid following the departure of Julen Lopetegui.
While Santiago Solari, Roberto Martinez and even Arsene Wenger have been linked with the job, one rumour won’t go away, and that’s the possible arrival of Mauricio Pochettino.
The Spurs boss has been at White Hart Lane (and Wembley) for four years and has come out in the press recently, talking about the situation at the North London Club and saying the Lilywhites ‘are not a top team’.
Real have reportedly been keen on Pochettino for a while now and his price has been short since the 30th October, when he went from 20/1 all the way into 5/4.
Some bookies had differing odds however, but the best price available on Poch has gone down and down over recent days, with 3/1 now the best price you can get on the 46-year-old swapping one team in white for another.
That’s the shortest best price he has ever been, and puts him third favourite in the market (but FAVOURITE with one bookie at 7/4).
The aforementioned Solari can be found at a best price of 5/2, with Martinez 11/4.
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “More and more money has come in over the last few days for the possible departure of Mauricio Pochettino to Real Madrid, and bookies have been forced to cut his price more than once. He’s now short scross the board and the shortest best price he has been in this saga. Don’t close the book on this happening just yet.”
