87% of all bets on the market have been placed on the Red Devils
A flurry of bets have been placed on Manchester United signing highly-sought after Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly this January.
In total, 87% of all bets on where the 27-year-old will end up next have been placed on Jose Mourinho’s side at 9/1 over the last 24 hours. That’s easily more than any other team in the market.
That means United are now favourites out of all clubs, except from Napoli to retain his services, with bookies making it 11/2 that he leaves the Serie A side.
Arsenal are second favourites to sign the defender at 14/1, alongside Chelsea at the same price. PSG and Real Madrid are both 20/1 to sign the 27-year-old.
The Senegalese centre back is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in Serie A since joining Napoli in 2014.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “There is absolutely no doubt that Manchester United need to strengthen at the back, with Chris Smalling coming in for criticism yet again on Saturday.
“Koulibaly is one of the best ball playing centre-backs in world football, and this would signify that the Red Devils are still able to attract the best despite the dip in form.”
