Celtic as well backed as Chelsea to win the Europa League

The Bhoys squeaked into the last 32 of the Europa League as Chelsea slipped against Vidi.

Celtic have Rosenborg to thank for reaching the Europa League, but now they’ve qualified, they’re receiving the same interest from punters as Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea.

Despite the Blues being 9/2 best price favourites and the Scottish side 100/1 outsiders, both clubs have received 11% of bets since the last round of fixtures kicked off yesterday.

The draw for both European competitions takes place this Monday, with both teams eligible to draw one another.

One side that may be best to avoid is RB Salzburg. The Austrian outfit are the only team to have picked up maximum points in the group stage and have been backed more than anyone else in the last 24 hours. They are 25/1 to win it all.

Elsewhere, Arsenal are 6/1 second-favourites, while Napoli are 8/1 after dropping down from the Champions League.

Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “They might have been fortunate to qualify for the knockout stages, but Celtic fans will be hoping for a run similar to that of 2002-03, when they went all the way to the Final. Their group rivals Salzburg may ruffle a few feathers, and could shorten from their 25-1 best price if they are handed a favourable draw."
