Could the Portuguese return to the Spanish capital?
A flurry of bets have been placed on recently fired Jose Mourinho’s next club being Real Madrid, following his sacking by Manchester United.
Since news broke of his departure, 56% of all bets have been placed on the Spanish giants becoming his new team, well ahead of every other contender.
Portugal national team and Bayern Munich are joint-favourite at 6/1 to get Mourinho, and have attracted 14% and 12% of bets respectively.
Inter Milan are 8/1, and the most likely Premier League team are Wolves at 14/1.
One bookie is as short as 7/1, and 10% of all bets have gone on Mourinho making the move to the West Midlands.
Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “Real Madrid have struggled to maintain their blistering form since Zinedine Zidane left the club, so a return for Mourinho could well suit all parties.
“There is no chance, however, that the Bernabeu faithful would settle for the style of football seen at Old Trafford in recent weeks.”
