Punters are getting behind the Red Devils revival as the Norwegian’s perfect start continues.
Manchester United have been heavily backed for a Premier League top four finish after their 2-0 win away at Newcastle last night.
Having been priced as far out as 14/1 in the week leading up to Christmas, bookies have since slashed their odds to as short as 3/1 for them to finish in the top four. With 74% of bets on the top four finish market going on United, punters are backing the Solskjaer revolution too.
The odds movement reflects the changing mood around the club since the sacking of Jose Mourinho, with United fans previously looking destined for disappointment this season.
Though yet to face the challenge of any teams at the top of the table, the string of impressive wins and the revival of disaffected stars such as Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford could indicate a shift in fortunes.
The Red Devils have won four on the bounce since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as caretaker manager. Sir Matt Busby is the only other Manchester United manager to win his first four league games in charge.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deserves great credit for completely shifting the mood around Old Trafford and they are now only six points off the Champions league places.”
“However, the Norwegian couldn’t have handpicked a better four games to start with so it will be interesting to see if he can continue to get results against the better sides.”
