The striker has been in scintillating form for the Championship leaders this season.
Reports in Turkey claim that Galatasaray are interested in signing Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe. Some bookies have him as short as 5/2 to move to the Turkish giants, with a best price of 9/1 available.
The 26-year-old has been on fire for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this season, netting 13 goals in 20 games in the Championship already.
Given the bitter rivalry between the two clubs, the idea seems farfetched, but that hasn’t stopped the Turkish media linking the SuperLig outfit to an ambitious move for the player.
Roofe is expected to stay at Leeds, but should he move on, Newcastle United are the next most likely to sign him according to bookies, priced at 11/2.
Long shots for his signature include another Turkish club, Fenerbahce (16/1), and current SPL leaders Celtic (16/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Kemar Roofe has been a hero for Leeds this season but that would all change if this move were to go ahead.”
“Just ask Harry Kewell - the ex-Leeds star is still despised with a vengeance by the fans at Elland Road since moving to Galatasaray from Liverpool in 2008.”
