Odds slashed on Marko Arnautovic leaving West Ham following China speculation

The Austrian is now just 9/4 to leave West Ham during this transfer window.

Bookmakers have unanimously slashed odds on West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic leaving the club and joining any Chinese team this January.

Just yesterday, Arnautovic was 7/1 to leave the London Stadium this transfer window, but that’s now been cut to 9/4.

Reports are suggesting that the Austrian has been subject to a £35m bid from an unnamed Chinese team, with an offer of £220k per week wages thought to be on the table.

Subsequently, bookies have cut odds from 16/1 into 3/1 for Arnautovic to join any Chinese team before the end of January 2019.

Arnautovic is 1/3 to stay at the Hammers past the transfer window, completing his second season with the Hammers since joining in July 2017.

Elsewhere, Chelsea are second favourites to sign the Austrian at 8/1, followed by Manchester United (14/1), Everton (20/1) and Roma (25/1).

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Moussa Dembele’s potential transfer to the Chinese Superleague could just be the start and Marko Arnautovic would be a tremendous signing for any Far East club, given that he is in his prime.

“West Ham are dead set on keeping their talismanic frontman, but the odds are shifting in favour of an Arnautovic exit.”
