Betting frenzy sparked as Blackpool shoot up League One relegation market.
Blackpool FC looks to be in chaos once more as odds on the club being relegated from League One are decimated from 66/1 as far as 5/1.
Accruing a massive 94% of bets in the last 24 hours on this market, droves of punters have placed bets on the ‘Pool going down.
Following uncertainty surrounding the club’s future this time last year, the club had been dicing with the possibility of going into administration.
Now, amidst rumours on social media of severe financial problems, administration could be rearing its ugly head again. As a result, a tidal wave of bets has seen the League One relegation market fly to the top of the most popular bets through the Oddschecker site.
Currently 11th in the League One table, should the club enter administration, they could face a points deduction that would see them free fall to the relegation zone.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Rumours on social media have been brewing of an impending crisis at Blackpool. With such a huge number of bets cascading in just this afternoon, it appears the club could be facing grave issues.”
"The activity we’ve seen today on Blackpool going down is unprecedented for the English leagues, with waves of money continuing to come in for the Tangerines dropping down to at least League Two."
