Mark Hudson new favourite for Huddersfield job following Sam Allardyce comments

Big Sam has said it’s “highly unlikely” he’ll take over at the John Smith's stadium.

Huddersfield's Interim Manager Mark Hudson is the new clear favourite for the Huddersfield job, following former favourite Sam Allardyce’s comments this morning (January 15).

Hudson has been cut from 8/1 yesterday into 13/8 today, making him the outright front runner to take over from the recently departed David Wagner.

That’s due to the bookies’ original favourite Sam Allardyce claiming it’s “highly unlikely” he takes over at Huddersfield, drifting from 2/1 out to 20/1

This morning alone, 48% of all bets on the next permanent manager have been placed on Hudson, with money continuing to pile in on the 36-year-old.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Late last night there was only one man in the betting when it came to who will take over from David Wagner – and Big Sam was that man.

“However, Allardyce is heavily on the drift and has been taken over by what would be an internal promotion, with Mark Hudson accruing half of all bets in the last four hours.”
