We reveal the most backed teams in the EFL Cup second round for Tuesday's games.
Southampton are proving a popular choice for punters tonight as they take on a Fulham side who lost at home last weekend. Whilst they dominated possession and created plenty of chances, they were very wasteful and they face a tough challenge in the form of Southampton tonight. The Saints got off the mark for the season with a well earnt three points away to Brighton. A professional away performance against a team much better than Fulham. Ralph Hasenhüttl will expect his side to make it back-to-back victories at Craven Cottage and get some momentum going for their season. Punters are lapping up the 37/25 available on the away side.
Punters fancy Cardiff to beat Luton for the second time this season when they meet this evening at the Cardiff City Stadium. They have not got off to the start they would have wanted so far this season but are beginning to adapt back to the Championship and play decent football. Luton arrive here having won 3-1 against Barnsley but that was the first win for them in the league and Cardiff should have too much for them this evening. Travelling to Cardiff won’t be easy for Luton and the 19/20 on offer for Cardiff is attracting plenty of bets.
These two met just four days ago and Leeds battered Stoke 3-0 at the bet365 Stadium. Stoke mustered up a measly two shots on target throughout the game and Leeds managed 21 attempts on goal as well as dominating possession. Stoke look in dire straits this season and Nathan Jones’ job is very much on the line. There will be no let up for him tonight however, and even at a short price of 8/15, Leeds are still proving a popular choice for punters this evening.
NOTTINGHAM FOREST to beat Derby
Nottingham Forest look like a very well drilled team this year and it showed with their brilliant 2-1 away win against Fulham this weekend. Sabri Lamouchi has made an instant impact at the club and the fans are loving the impetus he has brought. They haven’t lost since the opening day and welcome Derby County full of confidence ahead of tonight’s game. Derby are winless since the opening day in the League, and only just scraped past rock bottom of League 2, Scunthorpe, in the first round of the cup. They are struggling this season and having to face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground means things are not going to get any easier. The 8/5 available for the home side seems on the large side and punters are mopping it up.
