Is the Manchester United legend next in line to take over the Clarets? oddschecker have the latest on the next Burnley manager odds market.
Odds have drastically shortened on Manchester United’s record scorer Wayne Rooney being appointed the next permanent Burnley manager.
Rooney’s chances have been cut from 10/1 into 3/1 best price that he takes over at Turf Moor, seeing him leapfrog Chris Wilder in the market.
Some bookies are going one step further and making the appointment even more likely, with odds as short as 7/4 with some firms.
In the last 24 hours, a whopping 61% of all bets in the market have backed Rooney to be named Sean Dyche’s successor, with bets continuing to be placed.
That means previous favourite Wilder has drifted out to 10/3 to take over, ahead of Rafa Benitez (6/1) and Mike Jackson (10/1).
Ex-Swansea man Carlos Carvalhal is next up in the betting at 16/1, followed by Sam Allardyce (20/1), Nuno Espirito Santo (28/1) and Phil Neville (33/1).

Burnley have found form since Dyche sacking
A recent spark in form has seen Burnley’s odds of staying in the Premier League improve dramatically, now ahead of Everton in the betting.
The Goodison side are more likely to go down at 1/1 than Burnley are at 13/8, with Leeds United still in the mix at 4/1 to be playing Championship football next season.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Many eyebrows were raised by the sacking of Sean Dyche so late in the season, but back-to-back wins has seen their odds of survival improve dramatically.
“It doesn’t look as if caretaker manager Mike Jackson (10/1) is being seriously considered by bookies or punters, with the latter betting Wayne Rooney in their droves.
“6/10 of all bets have backed the Three Lions and Manchester United hero for the Turf Moor dugout – by far the most popular bet in the market over the last 24 hours.”
