When are the Premier League fixtures released? And how will they impact the betting odds?

oddschecker have the fixtures release date and latest odds for the 2022/23 Premier League season, which gets underway on Friday 5th August.

When will the Premier League fixtures be released?

The Premier League fixtures for the 2022/23 season will be released at 9am BST on Thursday 16th June. There will be a total of 380  fixtures throughout the year and with an unprecedented World Cup in the middle of the year, it could throw up some interesting runs of matches.

The Premier League, FA, UEFA and FIFA need to fit in all the games required to complete the year, while still offering a fair schedule for all clubs involved.

Last year, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was quick to slam the fixture list as his side went for an unprecedented quadruple and we expect others to follow suit with criticism once the league publishes the schedule for the new season on Thursday, particularly those in close proximity to the World Cup.

The FA have already requested that the ‘Big Six’ teams (in order of last season’s Premier League finish Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United) don’t play each other the week before England are meant to fly out to Qatar for the World Cup.

England manager Gareth Southgate is worried about the eight-day period between the pause of the Premier League campaign, which falls on the weekend of the 12-13th November, and England’s first World Cup fixture against Iran on November 21st.

Southgate stated in March: "What would help is if we don't get a derby or those sorts of 'big six' games, but it's not the fault of the league the World Cup is being held in the winter."

This time around, it will be best to break the fixture list into two halves with the World Cup as a divider. For example, if Manchester City or Liverpool are given ‘easier’ fixtures before the break, we expect to see their outright Premier League title odds shorten. They can currently be found at a best price of 8/13 and 11/4 respectively.

Premier League Title Odds 2022/23:

Premier League Relegation Odds 2022/23:

That’s not to say that the top clubs will be the only teams with their eyes on the announcement next week, though, as the newly promoted club will also have a keen interest on how the fixtures fall.

Bournemouth (8/11), Nottingham Forest (11/13), Fulham (5/4) and Leeds (5/2) are the four favourites for the drop at the time of writing, but a particularly favourable or unfavourable start to the year could alter their odds change significantly.

Team Best Odds Worst Odds
Bournemouth 8/11 4/7
Notts Forest 17/20 8/11
Fulham 5/4 6/5
Leeds 5/2 9/4
Brentford 11/4 9/4
Southampton 7/2 11/4
Wolves 6/1 4/1
