Can Arsenal win the Premier League? Gunners into 7/1 for the title after Liverpool win

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, a 50/1 chance in pre-season, are now 7/1 to win the Premier League for the first time in 18 years after beating Liverpool 3-2.

Who are the favourites to win the Premier League?

Despite Arsenal’s fine form, Manchester City remain strong favourites for the Premier League title at best odds of 2/9, giving them an implied probability of 83% to win their third title on the spin.

Nearly 25% of bets on oddschecker on this market have backed Arsenal to win the PL (23%), with one punter on for a £4200 return after backing them at 41/1 with a £100 stake.

Bournemouth and Notts Forest odds-on for relegation

Despite picking up all three points on Saturday over Leicester, bookmakers still have Bournemouth as second favourites (4/5 best price) for relegation this season.

The managerless Cherries (next manager market) currently sit 8th in the Premier League table with 12 points from their opening nine games.

Forest, meanwhile, (current favourites for relegation at 4/9) host Midlands rivals Aston Villa in the Monday Night Football, in what looks to be one of their best chances to pick up three points.

Steve Cooper has been given a new five-year deal by the club and he will want to repay their faith with a win at the City Ground over Steven Gerrard’s side.

Southampton (23/10) and Leicester (5/2) come next in the market as the shortest for relegation. It wasn’t a great weekend for either side, losing to Manchester City and Bournemouth respectively.

Battle for a top four finish finely poised

Other than Liverpool, all sides in the ‘Big Six’ picked up maximum points over the weekend, as the race for a Champions League finish heats up.

Bookmakers have Man City priced up at 1/500 (1/100 best) in places for a top four finish this year, with table-topping Arsenal currently 2/7 for their first Champions League finish since 2016.

After beating Brighton, Spurs are odds-on across our bookmakers for a Champions League finish with a couple of bookmakers paying odds of 3/4.

Despite their patchy form, Liverpool remain odds-on at 6/7, with resurgent Chelsea at 11/10 and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United side at 9/4
