Who is the favourite to replace Postecoglou as Celtic manager?
Manchester City assistant manager Enzo Maresca (best price 10/11) has emerged as the new favourite for the vacant Celtic manager role, following Postecoglou’s departure to London.
Maresca has not had much experience in the hotseat, notably being an assistant coach at Sevilla and West Ham, as well as being a current assistant coach in Pep Guardiola’s set up at Manchester City. As a player, he was part of the Juventus side which won Serie A in 2002, and won two UEFA Cups at Sevilla from 2005 to 2007.
His managerial experience with Parma in 2021 was short lived, taking control of only 14 games before being dismissed in November 2021. However, with the season he has spent within the Manchester City staff, many Celtic fans believe he might be an inexperienced option to continue their dominance in Scotland.

The former Leicester City and Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers (now a best price 5/2), was the original favourite to return to Glasgow having spent two and a half seasons at the club between 2016-2019, winning seven domestic trophies in that time, but he is now the second favourite to take over.
Rodgers, who has been out of work since being sacked as Leicester City boss in early April this year, is as short as 5/4 with one bookmaker to make a sensational return to Celtic Park.
During his two-and-a-half seasons at the club, Rodgers won seven consecutive domestic trophies, including the first “double-treble” in Scottish football history – a domestic treble in consecutive seasons.
He parted ways with the club in February 2019 to join Premier League side Leicester City, with Celtic eight points clear in the Scottish Premier League.
Sections of the Celtic faithful were unhappy at the timing of his departure with the club en route to go one step further and achieve the “treble-treble” in the 2018-2019 season.
It remains to be seen what kind of reception Rodgers would get if he returned to Glasgow, which may be a leading factor in whether he returns to Celtic Park.

Further back in the betting, West Ham United boss David Moyes is the third favourite in the market at 14/1 (17/2 available through oddschecker).
Moyes’ side claimed Europa Conference League glory on Wednesday night, before which the Scotsman had distanced himself from the Celtic job when questioned by the Daily Record.
He said: “The club have been so good to me and we’re enjoying the journey were on here. I’m hopefully trying to continue growing a really good football club, so I haven’t given it any consideration.”
