Sam Allardyce is the second most backed to replace Michael Beale as the next manager of Rangers in the last 24 hours through oddschecker.
Sam Allardyce isn’t a name we’ve seen be linked with the Rangers job since the departure of Michael Beale. However, there’s a large portion of bettors who think he’s the man to lead Rangers forward.
Despite there being no media attention around the possibility of Allardyce to Rangers, he’s been the second most bet on candidate in odds market in the last 24 hours, behind Frank Lampard.
Sam Allardyce Rangers Odds
Big Sam is 66/1 to get the Rangers job which puts him way down the pecking order. Lampard remains the betting favourite at 2/1, followed by Pascal Jansen at 4/1.
Oddschecker spokesperson Sam Eaton said: “Just over 22% of bets in the market have been placed on Big Sam going to Rangers. There’s either a lot of people in the know, or there’s a very strange rumour going around Glasgow.”

Both Paddy Power and Betfair still have Allardyce at 66/1 to take the Rangers manager job, but he is as short as 50/1 on bet365 to land at Ibrox as Beale’s replacement.
Despite being out-backed by both Lampard and Allardyce through oddschecker, Jansen has come in to 2/1 from 4/1 yesterday on bet365 (still 4/1 on Coral).
The favourite Lampard (shortest price 11/8 on Sky Bet) has been out of work since an ill-fated second spell at Chelsea, where he managed just a single win from 11 matches.
