Euro 2024 is expected to be Gareth Southgate’s last as England boss and he will hope to strike the right balance as he pursues that elusive major trophy.

Callum Wilson @ 4/5 William Hill
Callum Wilson has netted seven goals in the Premier League already this season and has the best goals-per-minute ratio in the division. His form ensured him a place in Southgate’s squad as the team prepared to face Malta and North Macedonia but he has been forced to withdraw from the squad due to injury.
Newcastle look set to challenge the European places once again and Wilson will be key to any success they have. This is the shortest price of our tips here but Wilson’s consistency since the start of last season makes him an appealing pick at 4/5.

Conor Gallagher @ EVENS Sky Bet
Conor Gallagher has already made 10 appearances for England and he has been included in the squad for the upcoming internationals. He has become an integral part of Chelsea’s midfield alongside Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo. He could yet be crucial for England next summer.
Jordan Henderson’s switch to Saudi Arabia and Kalvin Phillip’s lack of game time could mean that Gallagher is in contention to start if he performs from now until the end of the season. He could help provide a great balance in the Three Lions’ midfield alongside Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham.

Cole Palmer has made headlines by being called up to Southgate’s England squad on the back of some great performances for Chelsea. The youngster has become an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The former Manchester City player netted a late penalty at Stamford Bridge to secure a point against his ex-club. Palmer was struggling for game time under Pep Guardiola and the decision to move to Chelsea appears to have been a masterstroke.
The Blues have steadily improved and Palmer has been at the heart of that progress. Pochettino likened him to Angel Di Maria and he would be a huge asset for England next summer if he continues on this upward trajectory.
Palmer has started six games for Chelsea this season; scoring four and assisting two. We can still back him to make the squad at a generous 9.4 with Bet Victor. This price will continue to shorten if he keeps up his form.
Eddie Nketiah @ 5/1 bet365
Eddie Nketiah is the longer-odds pick for this one. He has enjoyed leading the line for Arsenal when Gabrial Jesus has been absent and his performances could be enough to get him on the plane for England.
There is no place for Nketiah in Southgate’s squad for the next round on international matches. He has opted for Ollie Watkins and Callum Wilson alongside Harry Kane. However, Eddie’s versatility coupled with injuries to other players could see him earn an unlikely spot in the squad.
Nketiah has scored five goals in nine Premier League matches so far this season and I’m happy to back him to earn a place in the squad at 5/1 with Bet 365 as an outside punt.
