Mauricio Pochettino is now the favourite to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd as the managerial merry-go-round continues.
Following the stunning news on Tuesday night that Mauricio Pochettino has left Chelsea, the Argentinian has been backed to take over at Manchester United.
After the news broke, Pochettino quickly became the bookmakers' favourite to be the next manager at Old Trafford, usurping previous favourite Thomas Tuchel.
Having previously been valued at odds of 20/1 to replace Erik ten Hag, Pochettino’s odds have been slashed to 2/1 best price on oddschecker (shortest evens).
In the 12 hours since he left Chelsea, we’ve witnessed a surge of support for Pochettino at Old Trafford, taking 91% of all bets to be the next Man United manager.
Next Man Utd Manager Odds
| Next Man United Manager | Odds | Implied Probability |
|---|---|---|
| Mauricio Pochettino | 2/1 | 33.3% |
| Gareth Southgate | 7/1 | 12.5% |
| Thomas Tuchel | 7/1 | 12.5% |
| Roberto De Zerbi | 8/1 | 11.1% |
| Graham Potter | 10/1 | 9.1% |
However, it is not just Man United who could be interested in Pochettino, as he has also become the 2/1 favourite for the vacant Bayern Munich role.
In fact, Pochettino is the key cog in so many managerial odds markets.
His exit from Stamford Bridge has had ramifications for the Brighton manager odds, with Kieran McKenna drifting in the market (leaving a new favourite) due to his own Chelsea links.

McKenna and De Zerbi have been installed as the early favourites for the Chelsea job with the club reportedly after a ‘young manager’. The two managers have picked up a combined 59% of all bets placed since Pochettino left the club.
Ironically, McKenna's decision to leave Portman Road for Brighton (or Chelsea) may be influenced by the struggles of Burnley this season under Vincent Kompany, who has been usurped at the head of the Bayern market by Pochettino.
Bayern are looking for a new manager after parting ways with Thomas Tuchel, who has ceded favouritism in the Man United manager market to Pochettino.
