Next West Brom Manager Odds: Sean Dyche to beat Raphael Wicky to Baggies job?

With Raphael Wicky’s talks reportedly falling through, former Everton boss Sean Dyche has emerged as a leading contender to replace Carlos Corberan at West Bromwich Albion.

After a dramatic turn of events, West Bromwich Albion’s search for a new manager has taken an unexpected twist.

Raphael Wicky was initially the frontrunner to replace Carlos Corberan at The Hawthorns, but talks have reportedly ended abruptly after the Swiss coach couldn't finalize his coaching staff.

Now, with the Baggies still in search of a successor, former Everton manager Sean Dyche has emerged as a strong contender.

Following his sacking by the Toffees after a poor run of results just last week, Dyche is now in the frame to take over at Albion.

Who is the favourite to be the next West Brom Manager?

Raphael Wicky was the clear frontrunner for the West Brom job, with odds as short as 1/6 just yesterday.

However, a sudden shift in the managerial race has seen former Everton boss, Sean Dyche surge to the top as the 6/4 favourite with Sky Bet.

Wicky’s talks broke down after failing to assemble his preferred coaching staff, and now Dyche, sacked by Everton just last week might find himself in a new position in English football.

Sean Dyche's tenure at Everton was marked by a tough battle against relegation. Appointed in January 2023, he steered the Toffees to safety in his first season, despite a difficult campaign and off-field financial issues.

However, this season saw a decline in form, with Everton winning just one of their last 11 games and struggling to find the net consistently.

After a 1-0 loss to Bournemouth left them just above the relegation zone and new owners, the Friedkin Group, looking for a long-term answer to their problems, Dyche was dismissed.

Tony Mowbray, currently 3/1 with Bet Victor as the second favourite for the West Brom job, brings a wealth of experience to the table.

Known for his successful spell at the Baggies from 2006 to 2009, Mowbray led them to Championship glory in 2008 and guided them to an FA Cup semi-final.

After a brief stint at Birmingham City, where he resigned in May, he has been without a job.
